What is FAFSA?
FAFSA, or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is the official form to apply for financial aid. It is the first step in applying for most federal, state, and college-provided financial aid for students. It is used to determine eligibility and provide you with monetary support. Your FAFSA needs to be renewed each year so that you can receive aid until you graduate.
Nearly every student is eligible for some form of financial aid. Students who are not eligible for need-based aid may still qualify for an unsubsidized Stafford Loan. We encourage everyone to apply, regardless of their income. The sooner you submit your FAFSA, the more financial aid options you will have!
